Salma Kikwete calls on CRDB to extend more credit to SMEs

First Lady Salma Kikwete has urged CRDB Bank to increasingly provide loans to small and medium enterprises and reduce collaterals for loans so that they all secure loans.

The first lady was speaking during the launching of the CRDB premium services branch and Azikiwe premier branch in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday.

She said banks should continuously empower SME`s on how to manage their business and other productive activities so that they could lead to success in business.

The First Lady challenged CRDB Bank to continue innovating new products so that they could meet their customers satisfaction in the banking sector adding that with new state of the art products the bank would manage to secure new customers.

She said the banking sector in the country should strive to make sure that people were well equipped and empowered to best use banking services.

Salma Kikwete said the bank should continue spreading their wings in order to reach every Tanzanian in every corner of the country enabling all to benefit from the banks state-of-the-art products.

The CRDB Bank Managing Director, Dr Charles Kimei, said despite the increase in services and products, the Bank had continued expanding its branches towards the people.

He said up to now the Bank was the leading financial institution in the provision of loans, better services and products.

The CRDB Director General said following the achievements in the testing period, the bank had decided to open a special premium branch in order to serve premium customers alone.

He said together with plans to increase its business by increasing the number of customers, the launched service aimed at ensuring that premium customer continued to do business with the bank.
