SAVINGS TAKEN USING STOLEN CARDS

A woman who withdrew an elderly woman's savings using her stolen bank cards is being sought by police in Cumbria.
The 78-year-old had her purse taken from her handbag while she was in the Save the Children Shop in Windermere on Tuesday morning.

Later the same day, a female, believed to be from the Carlisle area, used the cards at the National Westminster Bank in the town to withdraw £5,000.

Police said it was an unusual incident which had left the victim distressed.

Officers are studying CCTV footage from the bank.

The woman who took the cash is described as aged 40 to 45, of medium build, 5'5" to 5'6" tall and with short black hair.

She had jewellery on the majority of her fingers, a heavy gold pendant around her neck, a small tattoo on her left shoulder, and was wearing a brown patterned low cut top and dark trousers.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cumbria Police.
