THE CRDB Bank yesterday donated 25.8m/- in support of an international meeting of global airports body to be held in Arusha next week.
More than 300 experts and executives from different parts of the world will be meeting to deliberate on safety, security and sustainable growth of African airports from September 11 ñ 15.
Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) Acting Director General Laurent Mwigune said TAA will host the 17th Annual Assembly and Regional Conference and Exhibition of the Airports Council International (ACI).
He said the theme of this year’s conference is: Safe, Secure and Technology- Driven Airports for sustainable traffic growth and economic development in Africa.
CRDB Bank Managing Director Charles Kimei told the TAA delegation at a brief handing over ceremony that the ACI conference would greatly promote Tanzania. “It will greatly help in attracting investments in the country,” he said.
Mr Mwigune said the ACI Africa Regional Conference was an opportunity for the airports operators from Africa and around the world and industry partners to review the latest development in the industry. “We will get the opportunity to promote resources available in Tanzania,” he stressed.
Mr Mwigume said furtherthat the event would be a perfect forum to explore ways of to address the specific challenges facing airports operators in Africa in light of the evolving needs and requirements of customer airlines and passengers.
He said TAA in collaboration with ACI Regional Secretariat has put up an exciting programme to ensure the participants’ stay in Arusha and Tanzania isa enjoyable and successful.
ACI President (Africa Region) George Muhoho said in a statement made available to the Dar es Salaam that the theme of the 17th assembly was timely in this extremely challenging period for the development in the aviation industry and the African continent in general.CRDB Bank gives 25.8m/- support to airports meet
