Ghana: Ecobank Introduces Omni Electronic Product

Ecobank, the Pan-African Bank has introduced another internet based cash management product onto the Ghanaian market. The product, dubbed "Ecobank Omni Electronic Banking Platform" is meant to make life easier for corporate clients, since it would enable them to handle multiple financial transactions electronically.

Ecobank Omni is a fully integrated internet based application for payables, receivables and liquidity management activities for corporate clients. It is a multi-geography, multi-language and multi-currency platform that offers a comprehensive set of electronic banking services meant to enhance service delivery.

At the launch of the product in Accra, the Group Executive Director, Albert Essien said Ecobank Omni was developed as a result of feedback the bank received from its clients.

"Some of our clients whose business transcended geographical locations, multi languages, multi currency were approaching us regularly with the problems they were facing in their cross boarder business and the countless bottlenecks which slow down their cash management process," Mr. Essien said.

He added "Ecobank Omni was essentially a resource for multinationals, public corporations, international organisation and financial institutions that did business in or with Africa. Ecobank Omni will help companies maximise their local and regional opportunities."

Commenting on the product, the Managing Director of Ecobank Ghana, Samuel Adjei said one of the pillars of Ecobank is to provide innovative products to its clientele and based on that the Group would "continue to excite its clients" new products that will make their life easier.

The Group Head of Corporate Banking Products, Oti Ikomi noted that the new product would offer customers an integrated cash management system that is flexible enough to accommodate varying business practices in Ghana and across the globe. "This is an exciting new solution from the Ecobank Group that will enhance value," he added.
