Uganda: Bankom Increases Its Membership to Eight Banks

Global Trust Bank last week made eight, the number of financial institutions connected to the Bankom switch.

The switch allows customers of banks connected to the Bankom platform to access money using such financial institutions' ATM services.

It is licensed by Bank of Uganda to handle electronic financial payments and local switching for all willing financial institutions in the country.

The new partnership pushes to 79, the number of ATMs accessible on the network through which customers on the switch can transact their business.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr Charles Ajaegbu, the Global Trust Bank managing director said, "The partnership is in support of the bank's principles of customer centricity, accessibility, and affordability."
