BARCLAYS Bank has extended banking hours to 6:00pm from Monday to Friday in two of its branches at Kariakoo area, bringing to three the number of its branches with long banking hours.
The new branches -- Uhuru and Kariakoo -- join Slipway branch that has been working extra hours, except on Sundays when the branch does not open. The branches will also be opening at 9:00am to 4pm on Saturday and work on Sunday from 10am to 2pm.
The extended banking hours were introduced in response to customer requests. Barclays customers, in the Kariakoo area, will now be able to experience world class banking seven days a week, allowing them more time to focus on their businesses and personal activities.
"We appreciate the challenges faced by businesses that operate seven days a week and we are pleased to provide them with additional opportunity to carry out their banking transactions throughout the week," says Kihara Maina, Barclays Bank Tanzania's Managing Director.
He adds: "At Barclays, we are committed to making banking in Tanzania easier for our customers by being available when our customers need our products and services -- Monday to Sunday."
Barclays Bank's Regional Consumer Banking Director Zahid Mustafa said: "In the past six months, we have introduced innovative offerings targeting to enhance the Barclays banking experience for existing and new customers.
The recent removal of ATM fees for our customers and the extension of banking hours at some of our branches are just a start of what Barclays is doing to develop relationships with our customers."
Barclays Bank operates 32 branches with 52 ATMs or cash points strategically located countrywide.
