Crane takes Western Union

The merger of Nile Bank with Barclays bank has seen Crane Bank take over the dealership of Western Union in Uganda. Crane Bank is now the principle agent of Western Union, a deal formerly held by Nile Bank.

Being principle agent means Crane bank will select and approve Western Union agent in Uganda. Western Union is a money transfer agency world-wide. The bank’s Managing Director, A. Kalan said Crane Bank has accordingly appointed other financial institutions Western Union agents.

These include Pride Micro-Finance Uganda Ltd with 20 branches in the country, Commercial Micro Finance with 8 branches. The service is available at all Crane Bank branches. Centenary Bank also offers this service.
