THE National Bank of Commerce (NBC) plans to open 18 new branches within the next three years, it was announced over the weekend.
Acting Chairman of NBC Board of Directors Ami Mpungwe said the bank planned to increase its branch network to 57 from
39 at present.
Ambassador Mpungwe also said NBC plans to increase automated teller machines (ATMs) from 83 to 161 within the next three years.
“NBC has put in place an intensive branch and ATM expansion programme,” Ambassador Mpungwe said at the function to open a new NBC branch at Mbagala in Dar es Salaam on Friday.
Deputy Minister for Finance Abdisalaam Khati b in his opening remarks commended NBC for taking its services to the people.
He said Mbagala was among densely populated areas in Dar es Salaam, therefore, the branch would serve many people, including small and medium entrepreneurs.
