A robber threatened a security guard and got away with a box of cash from a bank in Kent.
The guard was left shocked but uninjured in the robbery at the branch of NatWest in London Road, Larkfield, on Wednesday afternoon.
The robber ran to a waiting green BMW car which was found abandoned soon afterwards in Oak Drive.
Security devices on the cash box, which was found nearby in Bell Lane, activated and sprayed red dye.
It is not yet clear whether any money was missing, but police said that dye may have been sprayed on to the robbers.
"I am asking anyone who saw the car before or after the incident to contact us," said Det Insp Dominic Kilbride.
"The people involved may have red dye on their skin or clothing so would be noticeable."
